1999 Vintage 855~
After moderate summer temperatures in 1999, a glorious Indian summer put the final touches of maturity on a fine harvest. The 1999 Opus One offers aromas of cassis, cloves, & roasted almonds against a creamy texture of soft tannins & round, rich fruit. Long-lived & concentrated, the wine shows flavors of plum, cherry & black pepper against a silky finish. The varietals are 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec, & 1% Petit Verdot.
2000 Vintage 675~
Despite an early bud break , vintage 2000 saw a long, cool growing season, with a harvest extending into late October. Soft & plush in texture, the 2000 Opus One offers aromas of blackberry & herbs. The wine finish is harmonious with sweet tannins & a long intense finish. The Varietals are 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec, & 2% Petit Verdot.
2001 Vintage 565~
Vintage 2001 produced small, concentrated barriers & an excellent unhurried harvest. The 2001 Opus One shows aromas of black current, black cherry liqueur, plum, & fresh vanilla, with hints of graham cracker & black peppercorn. A supple creamy entry is followed by intense flavors of ripe black cherry, cassis, & dark chocolate finishing with lingering black fruit & savory spice. The varietals are 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec & 2% Petit Verdot.
2002 Vintage 525~
Opus One thinned the 2002 vintage to the lowest per-acre yield in a decade, encouraging quality & concentration of flavors of cassis, black cherry, plum, & espresso. Offering a lean, vibrant entry with profound mid-plate density, the wine finishes with bittersweet chocolate & a hint of smoke. The varietals are 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec, & 2% Petit Verdot.
2003 Vintage 500~
The harvest of 2003 began on September 17th & concluded on November 2nd, the day before the start of heavy autumn rains. A moderately deep garnet, the 2003 Opus One offers aromas of blackberry, plum, hazelnut, grapluite, olive oil, cocoa & dried cherries. The wine presents a soft, rich entry, nuances of dark chocolate, black licorice & herbs linger on the finish. The varietals are 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 1% Malbec, & 3% Petit Verdot.
2004 Vintage 475~
The harvest of 2004 ended October 1st with the lowest per- acre yield since 1987. Showing a lustrous dark ruby, the 2004 Opus One presents aromas of violets, cedar, black tea leaves, black pepper & brioche. A soft, creamy entry gives way to a concentrated, mid-palate; elements of cassis, toffee & cocoa round out the rich flavors of the wine. Intense fruit, bright acid & sturdy tannins promise resilience & longevity. The varietals are 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc, & 1% Malbec.
2005 Vintage 385~
Frequent spring rains through the month of May led to a year of cool temperatures & slow ripening, with an extended harvest that ended on November 2nd, a voluptuous garnet. The 2005 Opus One offers concentrated aromas of blueberry, rose petals, white truffle, licorice & nutmeg. Flavors of cassis, black olives, raspberry & dark chocolate culminate in long & luscious finish. The varietals are 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc, & 1% Malbec.
2006 Vintage 385~
The vintage of 2006 saw the lowest average maximum temperature in twenty-five growing seasons. A saturated black-purple, the 2006 Opus One shows aromas of fresh cut roses, licorice, dark chocolate, blackberry pie, smoked bacon & sassafras. Simultaneously silky & dense on the palate this refined wine offers flavors of cassis, espresso & zesty black cherry with a persistently smooth yet expansive finish. The varietals are 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, & 3% Malbec.
